We understand that against the backdrop of hoarding and rice price manipulation, the State shall do its best to come up with an equitable solution.
Be this temporary or not, LKI enjoins all the rice traders and distributors to adhere to the objective of the said law.
We reiterate our previous position that the problem of rice, both in supply and pricing, is systemic. We keep on encouraging the government to look after the plight of our farmers who are gravely affected by the Rice Tarrification Law.
Instead of extending welfare money or ‘ayuda’ to our affected sector, we would want the State to keep modernizing, embrace new farming technologies and address the gaps lies in between.
Laban Konsyumer supports any initiative by the government through the Department of Trade and Industry to alleviate the buying power of ‘Juan Dela Cruz’.
