LABAN KONSYUMER INC. (LKI) ON ITS FOURTH YEAR OF EMPOWERING CONSUMERS RIGHTS
Consumer Group Laban Konsyumer Inc. (LKI), in a recent public statement, celebrated its fourth year of empowering consumers and protecting consumer welfare.
Laban Konsyumer Inc. (LKI) is a non-stock nonprofit corporation duly incorporated in accordance with the Corporation Code of the Philippines with Company Registration No. CN201621116 issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 13, 2016.
LKI President Atty. Vic Dimagiba said “Our mission has been going strong these past four years, as we help, protect, and empower consumers on their rights which are the: Right to satisfaction of basic needs, Right to safety, the right to be informed, Right to choose, Right to be healthy, Right to be heard, Right to redress, Right to consumer education, and Right to healthy environment.”
The consumer groups emphasized “We provide means for redress, continuing education and information campaigns regarding: Products and Services, Consumer Rights and General knowledge for critical and informed judgement on consumption. We also participate in the formulation of policies, new laws or amendments of existing consumer laws.”
Atty. Dimagiba said “we hope to continue gaining consumer confidence… for example, our LKI advocacy on the implementation of SRP on basic necessities is bearing good fruits from a good seed. Our advocacy on fuel and electricity prices, including the case in the Supreme Court against the excise taxes on fuel and in the PCC on fuel prices price collusion is effective and bearing fruit. Most important is our reach to consumers on the rights and responsibilities.”
He thanked the Board Officers, members and FB followers, and of course the media partners like ABS-CBN, DZRH, DZBB, Manila Bulletin, Business Mirror, Malaya, Radyo Veritas, Bombo Radyo Bacolod and other outlets and publications, highlighting “without your continued support in our crusade, our voice as a consumer group would not be heard. With your guidance, insight, and commitment to help us share the good news and continue the good fight, LKI will remain strong for many more years to come as we carry on our mission to protect consumer welfare to the best of our abilities.”
