Good day. News reports this week quoted the Sardines manufacturers association of price increases of 5 pct or range of 50 centavos to one peso effective December 1 , 2018 on canned sardines.
Based on our earlier press statements in August and September of the DTI Srp as well as the Expanded SRP, we reported that various brands canned sardines had implemented price increases in different amounts .

On the other hand , tin plates prices for the year are on the declines as shown in the attached chart.
Tamban prices was quoted ex Sorsogon for delivery to Zambonga at 1 K per banyera of 55 kilos or approx 18.50 per kilo.
In the Zamboanga fish port, tambam prices had gone down from the 40 peso high in June to 28 peso in October.
Based on the 3 months average of inflation. Inflation for food are 8.5 august , 9.7 September and 9.4 in October. Likewise for the past 5 weeks, fuel prices rollback equals to 10 to 13% decline using dOE DATA as of October 4, thus a substantial savings on delivery expenses are gained by the manufacturers Ms traders.
Given the above, Laban Konsyumer Inc. appeals to the DTI to deny the reported price increases of canned sardines.
